International customers, please refer to the article on accepting payments using Paypal.

When you use Eventarc to run your event registrations, we process any credit card transactions for you in real time and with bank grade security. You can however choose where the payment ends up after it is processed, and one of those options is to leave it with Eventarc.

With this method, we process the credit card transaction of your customer on your behalf and determine whether it is valid or not. If it is not valid, we let the customer know what the issue was and ask them to try again. If the transaction is successful, we charge the customers card for the required amount and store the funds in a specific Eventarc account.

Choosing this method is probably the easiest way to be up and running with Eventarc without delay, as it doesn’t require you to open any other accounts. Just set up your event, choose Eventarc as your payment method and away you go.

You can now use Paypal to process payments for your events on Eventarc.

To use Paypal:

1. Click on the Settings link

2. Select the Payment tab.

3. Click on the link to begin payment setup.

4. Enter your Paypal email address and nominate your currency. Click on the Use Paypal button.

Congratulations, you have just activated Paypal for your events.

If you don’t have a Paypal account, you can easily sign up for one using the link above the email field.

NB: In a very small percentage (less than 2%) of situations, payments are set to ‘pending’ while Paypal ensures there are enough funds in someone’s account to make a payment. Once Paypal has performed this check, it will either approve or reject the ticket purchase.

If you do not wish for this to occur, you can edit your Paypal settings and disable e-checks. In this scenario, if Paypal can not confirm the status of available funds straight away, the transaction will be declined.

Note: Only Australian customers can currently use their own merchant accounts. For international customers, please refer to the article on accepting payments using Paypal.

If you are running a lot of events, it can often make sense to have your own merchant account. A merchant account is a special type of bank account that allows you to accept credit card payments directly. Often they come with a terminal, which the credit card is swiped through in order to process the payment.

When a merchant account is used for online transactions however, the terminal is not required. Instead, transactions are put through a “payment gateway”. So to accept funds in this way, you will need:

A merchant account with an Australian financial institution

A payment gateway account with either a bank or a registered 3rd party gateway provider

If you have both a merchant and a gateway account, then you can use these to integrate with Eventarc. All payments processed for your events will then be sent directly into your account.

There is a once off fee that we charge to organise the integration for you, but there are no other ongoing fees above and beyond our standard transaction charges. You will of course be subject to the merchant and gateway fees charged by your chosen provider.

To organise to use your own merchant account with Eventarc, follow the steps below:

1. Select the Settings tab near the top right corner of your screen.

2. Click on the Payment tab.

3. Start the Payment Setup and select the ‘Use Merchant’ button.

4. Fill out the form, providing details of your merchant account and we will be in touch with you shortly with further instructions.

Note: Eventarc will only appear on the credit card statements for Australian customers. International customers will see Paypal on their statements.

A number of customers use our event registration software to sell tickets for their events. In doing so, some choose to push the transactions through our merchant account rather than go to the expense of creating their own.

When you register for such an event, your credit card statement will show Eventarc as the merchant rather than the name of the event.

For earlier customers, your credit card statement may say “Trickytix”, as this was what were called until a recent name change.
